For the Need Foundation is Hiring a Program Coordinator Near Simi Valley, CA

At For the Need Foundation (FTN), our very small team of staff and active board members ensures the success of our programs both behind the scenes and at the center-stage. As we look to grow & streamline our Bow & Arrow Program, we need YOU to join our team!

Our main program is the Bow & Arrow Mentorship Program, an events-based program for children and their families who are experiencing homelessness and poverty. Each event is centered around one of our six main themes including goal setting, relationship building, grit & resilience / physical fitness, mental wellness, finances & education, and giving back.

We believe that with these priceless life skills, the children in our program can grow up confident, hopeful, secure, and prepared to conquer the challenges they face and to reach their unique potential.

A note on faith: our founders, staff, and many of our volunteers are motivated by their Christian faith and inspired by Christian and family values, but we welcome qualified individuals as staff, volunteers, and participants without regard to their faith or beliefs.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The FTN Program Coordinator will be an integral part of ensuring the day-to-day success of the Bow & Arrow Mentorship Program by providing logistical support, correspondence support, event coordination, and administrative assistance to the Director.

Skills & Qualifications that will help you succeed in this role:

  • Knowledge and experience with technology and navigating online systems such as a customer relations database, Microsoft Office, and other programs that promote automation and scalability,
  • Advanced knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel,
  • Excellent time management, typing speed/accuracy, written and oral communication, a customer service mindset, and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively and build rapport with all levels of staff, the board, volunteers, program participants, and external relations,
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and attain established goals,
  • Resourceful and organized with a high attention to detail,
  • High level of professionalism, diplomacy, and discretion with the ability to maintain matters of confidentiality,
  • A general understanding of nonprofits and experience volunteering or working for another nonprofit organization,
  • Experience as an administrative assistant or other role providing logistical and administrative support, volunteer management, or event coordination,
  • Experience planning and coordinating large events with 100 attendees including volunteers, participants, and partners.
  • Self-starter with the ability to take initiative and work independently and with little to no supervision as well as working in a team environment.
  • Be a problem solver who understands not just what needs to be done, but why and how it can be improved.
  • Bilingual (English / Spanish) is a big plus.

SCHEDULE

  • Monday-Friday, with occasional evenings and Saturdays with advanced notice.
  • 40-hour work week.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of a High School Diploma, preferably some college
  • Pass a live scan and background check
  • Flexibility to work occasional evenings and pre-scheduled Saturdays

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $19.00 - $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
